The Challenge

Designing this project with little to no direction and just about zero experience designing a whole wedding suite was a huge test of it's own. My parameters were winter wedding, that's about it. It was a lot of fun to be given zero direction and try to make something elegant, but also representative of their marriage to be.

The Design Process.

It all happened fairly quickly, so the design process started immediately in InDesign with the save the date designs after some thorough Pinterest searching. After figuring out the best design I put a lot of time into finding paper and envelopes and wax seals to make this whole wedding suite as special as possible.

After building out the save the date I used the design and colors as a base for the invitations. The invitations took a lot of love and labor to produce exactly what I had envisioned for the couple to be.

I decided to go with a tri-fold enclosure for the invitations since a lot of attendees were from out of state the invitations needed to include a lot of information along with the RSVP cards. This was super beneficial for the design since I was able to make stand alone cards that tucked into the enclosure pocket. To give the design a bit of flair I decided to choose iridescent card stock to offset the simplistic design.

The most fun parts of the process for these cards were the wax seals and the stickers. Getting to test out new mediums and styles has always been one of the best parts of being a designer for me.

Taking on a huge design task like this was nightmare-ish, but also so much fun in the end. I would love to do it again, but maybe on a much smaller scale.
