EtQ User Conference 2016.

Every year EtQ hosts their User Conference at a different venue with different themes. For their 2016 conference it was hosted in Nashville, Tennessee with a very suitable music theme. I had the pleasure of creating the main logo for the conference along with all of the collateral materials.

The Challenge

While working at EtQ, I was apart of two user conferences. The first year that I was fully involved from conception to completion was 2016. It was the first year in a while that they switched up the venue and location and we ended up at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville! When building out the designs for the conference it was typically just a logo and a t-shirt design, but I stepped in to help create the conference into a sub-brand.

The Design Process.

Since I wanted to help build out the conference to be a sub-brand of its own I started out with creating the logo, which ultimately drove the rest of the materials for the conference. With building out the logo I also created a color palette and choose the type faces that would be used in the rest of the collateral.

The other materials that were created were: social media banners and posts, conference pamphlets, way finding signs, a tote bag, a cup and presentation templates.

Countdown used for social media to announce the beginning of the Conference.

While working at EtQ one of my goals was to help grow our social media following over time, so being able to create content for the social media sites surrounding the conference really helped engage our followers. It was fun for us to tease the conference as it was coming together.

Along with social media being an important aspect of the conference, the biggest component of the actual conference is the printed schedule pamphlet. I love being involved in print projects since they come to life! Building layouts that include graphics and text is one of my favorite parts of being a designer, so seeing this transform over time was a lot of fun. Especially working with a team to get to the final product is rewarding!

Ed note: Still love seeing the logo up on the Grand Ole Opry stage, even all of these years later. :)
